UWHS courses are graded on a 4.0 scale. Students may elect to take a course on a satisfactory/not-satisfactory basis. For more information click here.
Final Grades
Students have a high rate of success with UW in the High School courses. Of more than 3,400 grades reported in 2008-09, the average grade was a 3.1, with 93% above 2.0.
Students access their course grade online through their MyUW account. Grades are not mailed to students. Final grades may not be posted until up to three weeks after the teacher has submitted them to UW Educational Outreach. In the meantime, the student will see an “X” after the course title in MyUW.
This is merely a placeholder until the final grade is recorded. If a student did not set up their MyUW account, they may
also access their grade by ordering transcripts.

Course Withdrawal and Final Grades
Students who decide not to complete a UWHS course must make an official withdrawal request in writing to UW Educational Outreach Registration Services. Once the request is processed, a “W” will appear on the student’s UW transcript instead of a numeric grade. There is a specific time limit for withdrawing from a course, and failure to withdraw from a course by the appropriate deadline may result in a permanent UW grade of 0.0 recorded on their UW official transcript. See this fact sheet for more information on the UWHS policy for course withdrawals.
Academic Honesty
You will be expected to live up to the University's standards of academic honesty no matter what temptations you face. The good news is that this standard is not hard to maintain. It only requires that you clarify assignments and procedures with your instructors, that you study diligently, and that you seek help when you need it. An official statement and summary of policies and resources – including primers on time management and effective reading – are maintained by the UW Undergraduate Academic Affairs. Please visit their website for more details on UW Academic Policy. Note that the procedures for suspected misconduct will be determined in collaboration with appropriate UW academic unit and the student’s high school.
