STUDENT ELIGIBILITY
Students should be high school juniors or seniors with a B+ average in courses in the subject area or have permission of their instructor. Courses are university-level and therefore demand considerable work outside of the classroom. Successful students have discipline and are willing to dedicate more time than the typical high school course demands.

Characteristics of a successful UWHS student are:
  • Ability to use academic English
  • Ability to analyze and think critically
  • Curiosity about intellectual matters and a willingness to explore “grown-up” subject matter or to interpret topics from a fresh perspective
  • Willingness to devote the necessary time to assignments
  • Willingness to participate in all classes or activities
  • Willingness to accept and adapt to college-level evaluations
  • Willingness to independently obtain a UW transcript and establish UWHS credit at another institution as needed
Students Establish a Permanent UW Record
By registering for a UWHS course, students establish a permanent UW record. Participating students will receive a permanent UW student ID number and any grades received are recorded on a UW official transcript. Failure to withdraw from a course by the deadline may result in a permanent UW grade of 0.0. For this reason, only students who are likely to succeed are encouraged to enroll in the program.
