Online Learning Instructor Resources

What Is My Role in an Online Course?

Online instructors have the same responsibilities as onsite instructors. They guide stduents' interaction with the materials and provide fair and consistent feedback on assignments. They also apprise students when new developments in the field from one day to the next make part of the course materials obsolete.

The challenge for you is to do all of this at a distance, usually without the opportunity to meet with students face to face. The course provides tools to help you establish rapport through thoughtfully worded communications to students about their progress individually and as a class.
