Hi, my name is Craig Anderson. I have 25 years experience as a professional software developer. I've worked as a Senior Lead Software Engineer/Manager at leading technology companies in the Seattle area. Over the years I've developed graphics programs, various kinds of Windows programs from terminal emulation to ultrasound to report generators for internet-based, database-oriented multi-media computer-based training courses, to just about everything inbetween, in C++. I've done full object-oriented designs and architecture for biometric software, as well as internet-based bartering and manufacturing enhancement software in Java. As an instructor and course developer, I have applied my extensive knowledge of C, C++ and Java to teach at Highline Community College (5 years), Boeing (10 years), and the last 5 years at the University of Washington.

Some "life outside of programming" facts about me... I'm married to Kathy-24 years now. (She's extremely talented and currently pursues her favorite hobby, quilting.) We have four sons and Molly the dog: Chris, 22, formerly the Senior Class President of Liberty High School, concerto level pianist, varsity soccer goalkeeper, Eagle scout, Black Belt in karate, and currently a junior attending BYU majoring in computer science; Bryan 20, second in the state in high school wrestling at 215 pounds, snowboarder, soccer player, Eagle scout, Black Belt in karate, a sophomore at BYU ; Stephen, 19, award-winning orchestra composer - first in the nation and in Washington in a couple of contests, artist, track and soccer player, pianist, Eagle scout, freshman at BYU majoring in music composition; Jeffery, 16, soccer player (goalkeeper), almost an Eagle scout, bassoonist, football, wrestling, and rugby player, a junior at Liberty High School.

I've been involved in church service all my life. I am an avid tennis and racquetball player, and a soccer, football, basketball, and baseball fan. I like all kinds of food, especially Italian, Mexican, Chinese, and Thai. I enjoy classical music and "oldies." Enjoy theater, especially musicals. I started getting gray hair when my oldest son started playing goalkeeper. I have taken 5th or 6th grade teams to the Math Olympiad five times and placed in top ten several times. I spend most of my time trying to keep up with the rest of my family.

How to Submit Assignments

Each assignment must be submitted to me in the form of an e-mail message with an attachment that has been compressed using one of the common utilities for creating ZIP format files: PKZIP(tm) or WinZip(tm) for Dos/Windows, gzip for Unix, or the Java JAR utility. The attachment must contain all files specified as part of the assignment, as well as anything else you think I may need to grade your work.
