Goals
The Japanese Ministry of Education and Sports wanted to improve the speaking abilities and teaching skills of non-native speakers of English who teach English to Japanese high school and middle school students. Instructors received scholarships for this program.

Solution
Bring approximately 15 teacher-participants to the UW each summer for a two-month teacher training program. The first three weeks would consist of instruction in the UW's Short Term English Program: English for Teachers. The last five weeks would be a customized program.
