IMPORTANT DATES

Avoid Late Fees!
We recommend that you obtain the required approval signatures and submit your registration request before the quarter begins. Late fees are effective the first day of the quarter.*

The following dates are applicable to full-term credit courses that are not offered through online learning. For deadlines pertaining to any other courses, please refer to your Transaction Summary or call Registration Services at 206-897-8939.

Applying for Graduate Nonmatriculated (GNM) status
If you plan to apply the credits you earn toward a specific graduate degree in the future, you must apply for graduate nonmatriculated (GNM) status and register as a GNM student. For GNM application information, contact the graduate coordinator in the appropriate UW department. Deadlines are determined by the faculty of each graduate program. For additional information, call UW Non-Degree Registration Services at 206-897-8939, or e-mail Graduate Enrollment Management Services at uwgrad@u.washington.edu. For further information on GNM status, see the FAQ.

Registration
Because Non-Degree Enrollment is on a space-available basis, students are encouraged to submit their registration materials and fees at the earliest possible date.

NOTE: Registration begins the first day of Registration Period I, except for Autumn Quarter, for which we usually begin accepting registrations about eight weeks before the quarter begins. See the UW Academic Calendar for registration and other dates.

* Some academic departments require that Non-Degree students register after the first day of the quarter at which time a $25 late fee is usually assessed. Contact the appropriate department to determine if there are procedures for waiving the late fee. Waiving the late fee is at the discretion of each department.

** Under exceptional circumstances, a student may petition, in writing, to register after the last date for registration. If approved, a late fee of $75 will be charged.

*** All requests to drop or withdraw from courses must be submitted in writing and must include the student's full name, the course name (department), the number and section and the quarter of enrollment.
