MIPM for advanced training in homeland security
APPLYING FOR ADMISSION
Please review the following requirements and materials that make up the application process to the MIPM program. For further details about application materials, see Application Details.

Minimum Requirements for Admission
  • A baccalaureate degree (B.A. or B.S.) with a minimum grade-point average of 3.0 (B) in the final two years of study.
  • Completion of the Graduate Record Examination (GRE)
    Note: GRE scores must be received directly from the Educational Testing Service (ETS) and must be no more than five years old. The GRE requirement may be waived for individuals who have earned another master's degree or higher from an accredited university.

Program Prerequisite
All MIPM applicants must have completed a college-level math course by the time they begin the program in the fall.


Strongly Recommended
The MIPM program includes a course in Geographic Information Systems. We recommend that all applicants view the course information and, if they do not have an introductory GIS course or relevant work experience in their background, consider taking an introductory course. This must be completed before the start of the program in fall. There are introductory courses on GIS offered online, at community colleges, and by Esri, the makers of the ArcView software used in our course.


Application Materials
You will submit your applicatin materials onlne by creating an applicant profile. Begin with the Graduate School Application. When creating your profile, select Master of Infrastructure Planning and Management when asked to select your degree program.

International Applicants
Prospective international, immigrant and permanent resident students whose native language is other than English and who have not received bachelor's or master's degrees from institutions in countries where English is the native language are required to submit their scores on the Test of English as a Foreign Language (T.O.E.F.L.). The minimum allowable T.O.E.F.L. score is 580 (or 237 on the computerized tests).
