Applied Physics Laboratory Tours

Tailored to meet class needs

Applied Physics Laboratory

Description: The Applied Physics Laboratory (APL) offers tours tailored to individual class needs and schedules. Visits usually consist of one or more presentations by scientists and a brief tour of the laboratory. Content of presentations will vary, but is generally in the areas of oceanography, ocean acoustics, global climate change and Arctic science. If there is a specific area of interest, special presentations can be arranged. The content of the tour will also vary according to which projects are underway at the time.

The Applied Physics Laboratory is a research unit of the College of Ocean and Fishery Sciences, with a mission of research, engineering and education in partnership with the U.S. Navy. The laboratory performs research in oceanography, Arctic sciences, remote sensing and ocean acoustics, and develops advanced undersea technology and systems.
