Approved by the UW School of Drama

Discover and develop your own original story for the screen. Whether you are interested in crafting a small independent film, a Hollywood epic, or a television movie, you will learn writing techniques that free up your creativity and kick-start your work. Explore the art of storytelling and fundamental principles of screenwriting as practiced in the film and television industry.

The instructors are professional screenwriters who use their own real-life industry experience and a variety of examples to guide you through the phases of script development.

Classes meet evenings and some weekends on the UW campus in Seattle. Students earn a certificate and 12.0 Continuing Education Units (CEUs) upon successful completion of the program.
