This program enables individuals who have basic computer experience to make a career change into the software industry. The program is also ideal for those who are already testers and wish to gain professional training.
Participants learn the basics of software testing, how to document the results of software tests, and methods to plan efficient and effective test practices. They also learn the language of the field, quality assurance, control processes and methodology including testing templates, scenarios and plans, bug tracking methods and reports. Students design tests for software of various types on many different functional features as well as tests for usability and compatibility. Courses cover all the major elements of the software quality and testing processes.
Seattle Area Software Quality Assurance Group
Software testing professionals representing the Seattle Area Software Quality Assurance Group (SASQAG) provided significant input for the development of this program's curriculum and admission standards. SASQAG is a Washington State nonprofit organization that promotes professional software quality practices by providing educational and certification opportunities in a non-commercial atmosphere. Students in the program should make use of SASQAG as an important resource for software quality and testing information, accessible through monthly meetings and the internet at www.sasqag.org.
