Instructors

Peter Barnes
Owner, Clatter & Din, Inc.

Barnes has a broad range of experience in the audio recording industry, from independent work to studio GM and facility ownership as a player, composer, engineer and producer. Working with such diverse clients as Pearl Jam, Frank Sinatra, Barney, NBC and Warner Brothers, Barnes has a vast history of audio experience. He toured Russia as a live sound engineer, produced and engineered over 75 record albums, toured the country in a rock band for 10 years and now owns the sound design and audio post facility Clatter&Din, Inc.

Scot Charles
Owner, Blue Charles Productions, Seattle

Charles is an award winning sound designer and mixer. He worked with such notables as Sarah Vaughn, Tower of Power, Bobby McFerrin, Carmen McCrae, Blood Sweat and Tears, and Diane Schuur. His film and television credits include recordings for Little Buddha, Midnight Run, Jungle Fever, America's Most Wanted and NFL Films. Charles won a National Emmy for his work on the National Geographic Special Avalanche, The White Death. He now specializes in mixing for film and video.

Scott Colburn
Audio Engineer, Producer

Colburn is considered one of Seattle's most versatile producers. His credits span projects as diverse as Mudhoney's heavy rock, Sun City Girls cloaven theater, the avant guarde sounds of Climax Golden Twins, ethnic modern classical stylings of Black Cat Orchestra, the reggae of Winston Jarrett and wizardry on archival tapes of Capt. Beefheart and Charlie Patton.

Jason Devore
Sound Designer, Victory Studios

Devore's experiences include radio DJ, musician and recording/sound reinforcement engineer. He settled in Seattle in 1993 and began working as an audio post production engineer. He has since worked on many feature films and documentaries, hundreds of radio and television commercials and a record or two, here and there. He is currently working at Victory Studios, specializing in sound design and mixing for film, radio and television.

David Miles Huber
Audio Engineer, Musician, and Author

David Miles Huber has written such books as the industry standard text Modern Recording Techniques, The MIDI Manual and Professional Microphone Techniques. He's also a producer and musician in the chill and downtempo genres, whose CD have sold over the million mark. His latest music and collaborations with artists in the US, UK and Europe can be heard on 51bpm.com and MySpace.

Glenn Lorbecki
Owner and President, GlennSound/Seattle

Lorbecki has worked in all aspects of the sound production industry, including live sound for theater and touring acts, sound system design, music composition, live performance, and album production. He has recorded the Violent Femmes (double platinum), Phil Woods (Grammy nomination), and Dizzy Gillespie, and has worked for such diverse corporate clients as the Seattle Film Festival, Microsoft, PBS, NBC, and the Experience Music Project.
