Learn proven techniques for improving safety and efficiency, for protecting and enhancing a facility's value, and creating a people-friendly work environment that fosters personal productivity. Study the design and construction processes and understand how to capably manage communications and projects. Examine operations and learn to plan and carry out effective relocations.

What the Program Covers
- Key concepts of facility management for businesses
- An overview of building facilities and planning activities
- The design process - teams, effects on businesses, contract development, and Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) requirements
- Operational issues, such as energy efficiency, benchmarking, sustainability, recycling, and disaster planning
- Communication and project management, and computer aided facility management (CAFM)
- Relocation planning and oversight
Benefits
You will be prepared to effectively oversee facility management and increase operational performance with your knowledge of operations, design, construction, and relocation management. Those who have already earned the Certified Facility Manager credential from the International Facility Management Association may earn certification maintenance points by completing certain courses.
