The Certificate in Business Administration - Evening Program is composed of a single 15 credit course that meets bi-weekly over both the Winter and Spring quarters and includes an integrated set of modules covering:

Accounting
  • Introduction to financial and managerial accounting
  • Read and analyze a business financial statement, the income statement balance sheet and statement of cash flow
  • Evaluate a company's financial position, including cash flow, profitability and liquidity
  • Conduct cost-volume-profit analysis
  • Develop a budget projection

Finance
  • Financial assets and markets
  • Security valuation
  • Risk and return
  • Capital budgeting
  • Options
Business Economics
  • Consumer theory
  • Market structure
  • Monetary policy
  • Balance of trade
Marketing
  • Prepare a marketing plan for a product or organization
  • Consider alternative distribution and communication programs
  • Identify sources of consumer and market information
  • Define and test new product concepts
  • Estimate demand based on alternative prices
Business Policy
  • Determine an enterprise's competitive strategy (cost leadership, differentiation and focus)
  • Conduct a strategic business analysis in which strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats (SWOT) are assessed
  • Conduct a stakeholder impact analysis
  • Formulate or evaluate a business strategy, given information on products, the industry and the organization
