About the UW
The University of Washington (UW) was established in 1861. Today, it has over 140 academic departments with hundreds of degree programs, many of which are highly ranked nationally. As a research university, it is ranked 20th in the world. Over 42,000 students take classes here each quarter.
The University of Washington main campus is very scenic. Intensive English Program students take classes in a number of the 218 buildings on campus. They also use the UW libraries and the Language Learning Lab, and they have their own computer lab. Some students choose to live in dormitories on campus and use the meal services at various locations. |
