Study English at a beautiful university and experience American culture!
In this class, you will practice English and learn about American culture in many ways. In the classroom, you will have an opportunity to work with students from other countries. You will get a chance to do a lot of listening and speaking, and will build your vocabulary about high-interest topics. You will improve your listening by studying the language in an American film. You will have a chance to interact with Americans as you develop a final group presentation.

Outside of class, you will explore the campus area on field trips with your classmates and UW students. You will have an opportunity to participate in some of the following: a full campus tour, sports day at on Denny Field, a variety of different activities in Seattle's many interesting neighborhoods, admission to the UW's Burke Museum of Pacific Northwest history, and admission to the UW's Henry Art Gallery.

There are many exciting things to do independently in Seattle during the STEP program dates! When you arrive, we will provide you with a detailed calendar of Seattle area events and activities and information about the events. We hope you will enjoy exploring Seattle with your classmates in your free time!
