"I won't forget the most beautiful campus and all my days in Seattle."
- Gordon, Hong Kong

Study English at a beautiful university and experience American culture!
In this class, you will practice English and learn about American culture in many ways. In the classroom, you will have an opportunity to work with students from other countries. You will get a chance to do a lot of listening and speaking, and will build your vocabulary about high-interest topics. You will improve your listening by studying the language in an American film. You will have a chance to interact with Americans as you develop a final group presentation.

Outside of class, you will explore the campus area on field trips with your classmates and UW students. You will have an opportunity to participate in some of the following: a full campus tour, canoeing on Lake Washington, sports day and barbecue on Denny Field, shopping at the University Village, bowling, ping-pong and pool at the university activity center, admission to the UW's Burke Museum of Pacific Northwest history, and admission to the UW's Henry Art Gallery.

Optional pay-as-you-go activities with UW students will be offered. Some of these may include: visiting the Woodland Park Zoo, shopping at the Northgate Mall, a Seattle Mariners game (afternoon games only), hiking at Discovery Bay Park, visiting the Space Needle and Seattle Center, taking ferry boats to Bainbridge Island and Alki Beach, a tour of Seattle's only organic chocolate factory, and a night-time excursion to the University District comedy club, Giggles. Please note that you will be responsible for bus fare to each of these destinations.
