This course could be right for you if you

• have some trouble being understood in English
  
  
• would like some help in better understanding reduced or "fast" English
  
  
• would like some help in improving your intonation in English

This course may not be right for you if

• you are quite comfortable communicating in English
  
  
• you don't have very much trouble being understood in English
  
  
• you are almost always understood in English but you want to eliminate all traces of an accent
  
  
• you have serious problems using English
  
  
• you have a beginning level of skill in English pronunciation
  
  
• people don't understand you when you speak English
  
  

Smoking is prohibited in all university facilities, including those in Downtown Seattle. Please read the smoking policies of the University of Washington and of the City of Seattle policy before you come to class.
