Guidelines for Selecting this Course
Please read through all the guidelines before deciding to take this course.

Advanced Conversation: Vocabulary & Idioms Focus
This course could be right for you if you

  • can understand parts of conversations and television programs but get lost at times

  • find English speaking and listening stressful, and may avoid situations which require a lot of speaking

  • are willing to work with others in pairs and groups to help each other improve

  • have a basic understanding of English conversation structure, but want some further practice in a classroom setting
This course may not be right for you if you

  • are quite comfortable communicating in everyday English

  • don't have very much trouble being understood in English

  • find English communication extremely difficult

  • have a beginning level in English

Advanced Conversation: Conversation Management
This course could be right for you if you

  • are uncomfortable in conversations in English

  • find starting a conversation or expressing yourself is sometimes difficult

  • find English speaking and listening stressful, and may avoid situations which require lots of speaking

  • are willing to work with others in pairs and groups to help each other improve

This course may not be right for you if you

  • are quite comfortable communicating in everyday English

  • don't have very much trouble being understood in English

  • find English communication extremely difficult

  • have a beginning level in English

No Smoking Policy
Smoking is prohibited in all university facilities, including those in Downtown Seattle. Please read the smoking policies of the University of Washington and of the City of Seattle policy before you come to class.
