Program Details
VISIT is an educational program that directly relates to your current field of study at your home university. You and the University of Washington (UW) host department or program formulate a clear written statement of the learning goals and objectives. You register for the VISIT Program, but you may not enroll in UW coursework.
Your internship consists of at least 32 hours of structured activities per week and does not involve entry-level work or duplicate any previous experience you have had. The internship does not allow you to engage in clinical or other tasks that involve patient care or contact. In certain circumstances you may be permitted to receive a stipend from the UW host department or program.
The internship may be as brief as one quarter or as long as four quarters. The start and end dates must coincide with the UW academic calendar start and end dates. You may schedule the internship to commence at the start of any quarter.
