ESSENTIAL NEWS
Autumn Quarter #8 November 23-27, 2009
NO CLASSES ON NOVEMBER 26 and 27
This is a reminder that there will be no school on Thursday, November 26 and Friday, November 27 in observance of the Thanksgiving Holiday. The IELP Office will also be closed on those days. We hope you enjoy the long holiday weekend!
CHECK YOUR I-20!
This is a reminder to check the expiration date on your I-20 (in section #5). If your I-20 is expiring at the end of this quarter and you are planning to continue studying in Winter Quarter, you need to request a program extension and bring an updated bank statement to Marissa or Sean. You must request an extension at least two weeks BEFORE the program end date. Call 206-543-6242 to make an appointment with Marissa or Sean. If you plan to transfer to another program or college, you will also need to turn in a Transfer Out form and proof of admission to the ELP Office in the UW Tower.
CALLING ALL PUBLIC SPEAKERS!
Is this your last quarter in the IEP? Would you like to practice making a speech? Do you need something special to add to your college application or your resume? Why not volunteer to give a short 2-5 minute graduation speech to your fellow students and teachers at the IEP End of Quarter Ceremony on Friday, December 11th? It's a great opportunity to reflect on your experiences as a student at UW and your life in Seattle. If you are interested, please send an email to Marissa at mliu@extn.washington.edu as soon as possible.
IEP END-OF-QUARTER CEREMONY
Mark your calendars now! We will be celebrating the end of the Autumn Quarter on Friday, December 11, at 2:00 pm in the HUB Auditorium. Please come and join your friends and teachers to congratulate the graduates and the outstanding students. There will be a reception with food following the ceremony. Seating is limited, so please be there *on time* to get a seat.
