Burke in a Box: Traveling Study Collections

Collections of specimens and artifacts that come to you

Burke Museum

Description:

The Traveling Study Collections are portable boxes of scientific specimens and cultural artifacts for all ages, designed to supplement the study of various topics in cultural and natural history. Each collection includes background information and a description of the artifacts or specimens included. Some collections include additional books or audiovisual resources.

The available kits include:

  • Pacific Northwest Cultures
  • Multi Cultural Studies
  • Archaeology
  • Life Sciences
  • Earth Sciences

These popular resources are available for rent by schools, libraries, churches, daycare centers and other groups. Most users choose to pick up and drop off the kits at the museum; if mailed, then the group must pay for shipping. More information is available at the Burke website, www.burkemuseum.org.
